Strong Winds in Reno
Winds gusting up to 100 mph struck Reno, Nevada today. It caused power outrages, and wrecked parts of the city. Snow and rain were also dumped down on the Sierra. About 5,000 homes and businesses were out of power today, the wind tearing down shingles, and even bringing down a 70-ft tall pine tree. 5 school buses were damages driving home from school, along with 20 schooles being closed in Reno.

The weather today was warm, with a few cloud hovering in the sky. I wore shorts and a t-shirt and didnt get cold one bit. Then wind did start picking up by the end of the day though. Like when I was outside hitting the volleyball, the ball would go in different directions, the wind carrying it. The dew point for today was 39 degrees F, and the temperature got up to 62 degrees F. So, the grass won't be wet tommorrow morning as I rush out the door. The temperature keeps on increasing over the past couple of days, with the clouds and wind getting lighter. So, I think for the rest of the week it should be pretty sunny and warm!

Large Hail Storms in Tennessee
With the humidity from the Gulf, rising up to Tennessee severe storms have occured. Flooding and hail are some of the cases. Heavy winds, hail, and possibly tornadoes are predicted to soon sweep through Tennessee. 1-3 inches of rain fell on Shelby. 1.25 inch diameter hail rained down today. Scientists recently discovered that an EF-0 tornado touched down near this town.

Today the weather was warm but windy. By the time we went outside today in science, 1:00 pm, the wind had picked up, creating strong wind gusts. Even though the temperature today rose above the dew point, I noticed that there was still a light coat of dew on the grass, even late in the afternoon. The barometric pressure keeps on falling, so I predict that the weather will keep changing. I especially think the temperature will steadily increase, just like it already has been doing. The clouds also are starting to lighten up, making the sky clearer, with a less likely chance to rain.

Afterstorms in Tornado
Weather Update: April 29, 2010
Afterstorms in Decatur, Tennessee are resulting in heavy rainfall, causing possible flooding. Several rounds of showers and thunderstorms are expected to move
repeatedly over the same areas near Decatur, and scattered all around areas from the tornadoes path. This should result in storm total rainfall amounts of 4 to 8 inches with localized amounts of 10 to 12 inches possible. Theres a combination of Gulf moisture, instability, strong winds, and stalled fronts heading and already hitting the tornadoes path. So, many thunderstorms will be resulting after all the destruction.
Today was a very warm and sunny day. I wore shorts and a shirt to school and was warm the whole day. By the time I got out of school, it felt like 85 degrees outside. Occasionly there were big gusts of wind, but since it was nice and not too hot outside, they were cool. The skies were clear today, so I think that the weather, like it already is will continue to clear up. I think the lovely spring time weather will continue, as the barometric pressure keeps falling.

Spring Storms Hit the Central Plains
Severe weather is back in the forecast on Thursday as a cold front and dryline will strike across the Central Plains. Moisture from the gulf will be the biggest question as to the danger of the storms. Very large hail could hit all the way from Iowa through Kansas along with really strong winds. If the dewpoints are able to make it into the 60s then a tornado threat will exist towards late afternoon with the highest potential being along the Kansas/Nebraska border.

Today started off warm and very humid, then by 3rd hour, the clouds started rumbling and the rain started coming down. It was more than a sprinkle, but nothing like pouring. The rain did lighten up, and the sun came out clearing up some of the puddles for our dance. By 5 at late afternoon, it was sunny, but very humid, and the skies were clear for the most part. The wind wasn't bad at all, unlike the beginning of the week. I think that might have been the last of our spring time storms in Jenks.

Tornadoes Forming in Arkansas
There have been reports of 1 inch hail in Lincoln, Arkansas, and a funnel cloud has been spotted by local reporters 4 miles north of Gould. Several long track tornadoes have already been predicted to hit, actually since friday. Tornado damage has already been confirmed in Marion County earlier, with the tornado being tracked as an EF2. Lots of tornadoes have been breaking out in Arkansas and in Mississipp, as in result of the moist gulf weather hitting the cool dry weather up north. Just some lovely spring time storms coming into action.

Today's weather has been nice and sunny, warm enough to lay out and get a tan. It was a nice day to be outside and do some yard work. In the morning it was cool, with some breezes, but as the day picked up, the gusts of wind wore off. The barometric pressure this week went from falling to a steady rate. Meaning that for now, there should be no more storms. Also, I've noticed that the temperatures this week keep on rising, so I think we're starting off May with some nice beginning summer weather.
